FAQ

MMHW products are guaranteed for life for workmanship and materials. We will replace or repair any defective merchandise at our option, no charge. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason at all when you receive it we will happily refund your purchase price less a 10% restocking fee. If you wish to return your purchase it must be done within 10 days from the day you receive same and must be approved by the seller prior to shipping.

What kind of heat treatment does Mineral Mountain use?

Ted torch hardens the edges up to the grind line. He then uses an oven draw to create the temper.

All tools are oil quenched using Mobile quench oil.

These are tough, real working tools!

How hard is the steel in the knives/swords/axes?

All tools rate ~58 on the Rockwell C scale. Axes and cleavers are ~56.

Steel?

5160 spring steel in large tools. 1095 spring steel in small knives.

Handles?

Unless indicated otherwise, handle scales are black linen Micarta ^®. Other colors available.

Edges?

Unless indicated otherwise, all tools are hollow ground.

Are there any other finishes available?

Each item comes with a black parkerized finish, but bead-blast finishes are available upon request.

How long will it take to get my order?

It depends on how busy Ted is. Generally, knives and swords are finished and shipped within four weeks!

How much is shipping?

$15.00 for insured USPS Priority Mail within the USA. International rates vary.
